It has been a month since I determined to again pray expectantly and everyday it has been a battle of the wills against those roots of doubt that just will not die. My flesh harbors them and Satan’s devils nourish them to grow faster than I am able to identify and pluck them out. Yet, God’s Holy Spirit also, daily gives comfort and encouragement pointing me to Christ and reminding me that there is one who defeated Satan. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. It is His promises upon which I stand and they shall not fail.
What God Hath Promised
By Annie Johnson Flint
God hath not promised skies always blue,
Flower-strewn pathways all our lives through;
God hath not promised sun without rain,
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.
But God hath promised strength for the day.
Rest for the labor, light for the way,
Grace for the trials, help from above,
Unfailing sympathy Undying love...
I pray you rest in God’s grace and peace to sustain you one day at a time.
